How we’re different
A credit union
We’re a community bank based in South London, founded in 1982 and owned by our members. We’ve been working with NHS staff for over 25 years.
Working for you
Our mission is to help everyone in our community get into financial shape—not to make a profit. So you can trust us to act in your best interests.
We work with London Ambulance Service to deduct a regular amount from your pay, making it easy to build savings or make repayments without hassle or worry.
Every penny we make is paid back to our members as a dividend, used to support our community work, or reinvested in our services.

Who we are
We were founded by employees of Southwark Council in 1982. Since then, we’ve had one mission: serving our member communities by providing fair and ethical financial services built around their needs.
The community we serve (known in law as our ‘common bond’), now covers the heart of Central London. This includes the Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Camden and Westminster, in addition to all serving members of the UK armed forces and anyone who worships at the New Testament Church of God. Family members living in the same household as one of these groups are also eligible to join.
Safe and secure
London Mutual is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Every account is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), up to the value of £85,000.
