34 credit union workers visit to share ideas from Africa’s biggest credit union movement

London Mutual Credit Union welcomed a group of 34 credit union workers from Kenya, showing how credit unions connect people across the world.

The visit gave both sides a chance to share ideas and learn from each other. Kenya has one of the world’s most successful credit union movements, with 4,965 credit unions serving over 5 million members as of December 2014.

More than one in five Kenyans belongs to a credit union, making it the most popular country in the world for this type of community banking.

The visit shows how credit unions around the world are working together to help their communities access fair and affordable financial services.
