Wanted: Real Londoners (not stock photo models) for credit union photo project

We're working with a professional photographer to capture the authentic face of London Mutual Credit Union – our members and the places that matter to them.

Want to be one of the faces of your credit union? We’re looking for members to take part in a professional photo shoot that celebrates the real London.

We all know the real heart of London beats strongest in the places you won’t find in any guidebook. Sure, our credit union community includes the tourist haunts – you know, the Camden Market crowds and those eternal postcards of Big Ben and the Royal Family.

And yes, we’re there in the spots making headlines, like the creative buzz of Peckham Levels and the bustle of Electric Avenue. But let’s be honest – we know the real London stories are happening in the quiet corners, the local shop fronts, and the community spaces where actual London life unfolds.

Your London, your story

That’s why we at London Mutual Credit Union are working with a talented student photographer to capture these hidden stories of our members. We’re not interested in another glossy tourist snapshot. And yes, we’re finally retiring those stock photos of people pointing at calculators. It’s time.

We want to document the London that we actually live in, the one that exists beyond the guidebook trails and trending hotspots. We’re talking about the places where real relationships are built, where our communities come together, and where London actually happens.

What’s involved?

Selected LMCU members will participate in a professional photo shoot at a location meaningful to them. We’re thinking:

  • That café where the owner knows your order before you even walk in
  • The community garden where you actually get to know your neighbors
  • Your family business that’s been serving local Londoners for years
  • Those school gates where parents gather rain or shine (and we know there’s plenty of rain)
  • Or any other spot that might never make a Time Out list, but makes our corner of London what it is

What’s in it for me?

Beyond being featured in our credit union’s marketing materials and social media (goodbye, awkward stock photos!), you’ll receive a professionally printed copy of your favourite photo from the shoot – a lasting record that captures your place in our community’s real story, not its tourist brochure.

Ready to take part?

It’s easy to get involved. Just fill out our simple online form telling us a bit about yourself and where you’d like your shoot to happen. While spaces are limited, we’d love to hear your London story. If selected, our team will contact you to discuss the details and arrange your photo shoot.
