News & updates

At London Mutual Credit Union, we’re getting ready for some changes in early 2025. The biggest change you’ll notice is your new bank card. It has a fresh red design and looks quite different from your current white card. Don’t worry though – it works in exactly the same way.

Key points

  • Until January 2025, everything stays exactly as it is. Keep using your current card as normal until then!
  • Everyone who has a current account with us will get a new card, even if your current card isn’t due to expire yet.
  • Your new bank card will come with its own new PIN number – your old PIN won’t work with the new card, but you’ll be able to view your new PIN easily through the mobile app.
  • When it’s time for the change, we’ll text you to let you know your new card and PIN are on their way.

What to do when your new visa debit card arrives

When your new visa debit card lands on your doormat, there’s no need to rush to use it. We recommend keeping it somewhere safe until you get our text saying it’s ready to use. If you do try to use it before then, don’t worry. You haven’t broken anything! It’s just likely to be declined as it won’t yet be connected to your account. Knowing what to do when your new visa debit arrives can help ease any concerns.

Your bank card and PIN will arrive separately in the post (for security). Once you get our text saying it’s ready to use, you’ll need to activate it by making your first purchase using chip and PIN. After that, you can cut up your old card and use your new one for everything – including contactless payments.

Making sure everything goes smoothly with your new card

The most important thing right now is making sure we have your correct contact details. If you’ve moved house or changed your phone number recently, let us know via our online form. Alternatively, give us a call on 020 3773 1751 (we’re here 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).

Getting help with the change

We’re here to help make this change as easy as possible. You can find more information at support.creditunion.co.uk. Or, call our helpdesk if you have any questions. If you’re still unsure about what to do when your new visa debit card arrives, please get in touch for assistance.

Remember, there’s no rush to do anything right now – just keep using your current card as normal. We’ll contact you when it’s time to activate your new bank card in early 2025.
